	At the end of this practical course, delegates will be able to: Explain the key steps in implementing an EMS. Describe how the requirements of ISO 14001 relate to the existing management system Understand the the process for gaining registration to ISO 14001

	Managers and staff who are involved in the implementation of an environmental management system based upon the requirements of ISO 14001
	Prior knowledge required
	Basic knowledge of the requirements of ISO 14001 or completion of ISO 14001 / EMS Introductory Course.

	The course covers the following areas The system logic underpinning ISO 14001 Explanation of the 11 step EMS implementation process Guidance on how and when to use external consultants How to carry out an environmental review Preparation of environmental aspects and legislation registers Guidance on interfacing with other management systems (e.g. ISO 9001) Preparation for the assessment Sources of help
